A Fragrant Gift to the Street and Perfume

Image
There are thousands of flower clusters on this orange jasmine tree, Murraya paniculata. It's almost 30 years old, and blooms several times a year, often on the full moon. the scent is gorgeous, and it diffuses for over 100 feet. I've been harvesting the flowers for tincture for years, making sure to do it early in the day because thousands of bees descend on it in a frenzy by afternoon. I can only imagine what that honey tastes like! Orange Jasmine tree in Anya's Garden A neighbor took this photo because she's so enamoured of the fragrance. She plucked a few flowers, and put them on her kitchen counter and they fragranced the room for the day. A few years ago, I posted a blog describing how to obtain a tincture of these flowers, but it applies to many flowers that you may have growing. Image
Click to view larger image I love perfume, and I love design and I love fierce, and they all come together in this fan.  It was created by artist Sylvain le Guen for the Anniversary crystal edition of perfumer Francis Kurkdjian's perfume.  The fan was, of course, scented with the perfume.  It may be viewed at the The Fan Museum in London. 12 Crooms Hill, Greenwich, London SE10 8ER. Of course Lond has a fan museum!  Wouldn't you love one of these?  Do you think it's inspiring you to make a similar one, of your own design?
