Mandy Aftel resigns from the Natural Pefumers Guild

The Natural Perfumers Guild’s Founder, Mandy Aftel submitted her resignation from the Guild on January 28, 2011, and announced it publicly on April 14, 2011.  We respect her decision, and wish her well in her endeavors and her three Fifi nominations, which paved the way for natural perfumery to be accepted as an ART.

We look forward to bringing the Guild to the next level as we work towards achieving our goals of even more awareness and new voices, noses and fans in  the 21st Century.

  1. Anya, didn't Mandy quit the Guild once before? I appreciate all the great things you have built up for the Guild in the past few years! I missed your lilac giveaway, but I love your energy and way of thinking up creative collaborations. Thanks for everything, and I look forward to the next project.

  3. Dear Anya:

Love your spirit and delightful ways, dear heart. You helped me when I got brushed off by ahem, and so my loyalties lie with you.

  4. Hi Francesca:

Mandy closed the Guild, Francesca, that must be what you're remembering. We have much to be thankful for with all she did for NP. Thanks for writing, and just know I'm looking forward to the projects, too! ;-)

  6. Hi Margaret:

You're one of my favorite students, always asking questions and moving forward. Your loyalties should lie with natural perfumery, too, as it is an art that was revived by Mandy Aftel. Don't hesitate to contact me, you know I'm always here for you.

  8. JoAnne, thanks so much for your comment. I'm reminiscing about our naturalperfumery.com efforts in 2005-2006 and how we all came together to promote natural perfumers. Fond memories.

  9. JoAnne, please know other than telling me to use the name of the failed Guild, Mandy Aftel did not bring anything to the Guild I opened in 2006. Not one member, nothing. In fact, I have been trying to shake off the bad feelings of her Guild, which she closed abruptly after having in-person screaming fights with members. This is a new Guild, a professional Guild, a recognized self-regulating trade association.
